Pillow Mountain- Piecing and Quilting with Lisa Basile

This is a great mini-series for beginners!
This 4 week workshop is an introduction to machine and hand sewing, quilting, and design with a focus on small scale! Students will be introduced to the skills necessary to create a modern or traditional quilt. We will be making pillow sized “quilts”, so you will have the opportunity to play with color and design options while learning the basics. It’s always fun to add fresh color and a pop to your bed or living space and working on this manageable scale will mean that you will finish what you start! Students of all levels are welcome.
All materials and equipment included. You are also welcome to purchase your own fabric in our shop.

Lisa Basile is a local artist, maker and teacher. She began her art journey as a textile designer, initially designing for a small SoHo bedding company and then a larger quilt company. Later, Lisa dabbled in screen printing and merged thread as line with printed pieces. She currently works as a non-traditional quilter, guided by an intuitive sense of color, shape, edges, texture, and a feeling of “hand” in every piece she makes. When she quilts, she has little idea about its final form, and finds the mystery of the process a private challenge.
